Evolution of Reinventing the Tattoo
Reinventing the Tattoo began in the 1990s as a seminar series by Guy Aitchison and has since evolved into a larger initiative focused on knowledge sharing in the tattoo community. The pandemic led to the creation of virtual events and online courses, keeping artists engaged and learning together despite restrictions. These efforts continue with weekly sessions and activities aimed at enhancing the skills of tattoo artists.
Collaboration Between Tattoo Clubs
Sandy McAndrew plays a key role in managing activities for Reinventing the Tattoo, where she also collaborates with the Inside Fireside Tattoo Club. Both clubs share activities and have a crossover of members, creating opportunities for networking and shared learning. These collaborations are expected to expand in the coming months!
Sandy McAndrew (@sandymcandy.tattoos) has been tattooing since 2007, and is also an educator, manager, and main host for Reinventing The Tattoo, a tattoo education platform..

Tattoo technique is, no doubt, an art of its own. Like any skill or trade, tattooing has been closely guarded by tattooers throughout modern history. We take a different approach here at Fireside.
